Salim Akyürek, who serves as an Associate Professor at the Near East University Faculty of Tourism, was born on June 18, 1971 in Nevşehir. He completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara. He graduated from military high school in 1988. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences and Anadolu University Faculty of Business Administration. He completed his master's degree in both fields. He completed his doctorate in Business Administration. In 2014, he retired from the military profession, which he held various positions and loved, and settled in Izmir. After continuing his work as a freelancer in Izmir for two years, he worked as a consultant at a private company for one year. He received the title of Assistant Professor in 2017 and Associate Professor in 2024. He currently serves as the head of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management and the head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at the Near East University.
The academician, who conducts his academic studies in the field of management, organization and organizational behavior, has studies on organizational justice, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, alienation, leadership, locus of control, learning styles and decision making. He has articles published in international journals and papers presented at various conferences. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salim Akyürek is married and has two sons.
