
Aysun Yılmabaşar, who is a lecturer at the Near East University Faculty of Tourism, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, was born in Akhisar-Manisa. She completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Akhisar. She completed her undergraduate education at Eastern Mediterranean University, Faculty of Tourism, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management. She started her career in the Human Resources department in the Tourism and Hospitality sector and served the sector as Operations Manager and Assistant General Manager.
After completing his Master's Degree in Tourism Management at Eastern Mediterranean University, Faculty of Tourism, she is currently pursuing his PhD programme at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts.
Between 2018-2023, she worked as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Eastern Mediterranean University.
She continues her academic studies on Cyprus Culinary Culture, Turkish World Culinary Cultures, Gastronomy and Food History, Nutrition and Food Anthropology, Product Development and Sensory Analysis in Gastronomy, Food Safety in Waste-Free Kitchens, Food Safety and Food Legislation.
She is a PhD Representative at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Faculty of Tourism, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and continues to be a member of the department board.
She is a member of Turkey Gastronomy Academicians Association.
